Some more Salmon from the last couple of days.
The average size of our fish this year has definately been larger. We have had several fish in the upper 20lb to low 30lb range. We have also started taking some nice Coho’s as well.
A great day!
We had a great morning of Salmon fishing on the big pond. There were fish from the 70 – 90 ft. depth from the Salmon River, North towards Sandy Pond. The green glow #4 j-plug worked well off a rigger till we broke it off. White and green chips with hammer flies and Mt. Dew …
Lots of Salmon
Right now we have salmon all over the Eastern end of Lake Ontario. The 70 – 90 ft. line from Nine Mile Point to Stony Point is loaded with fish. Kings and Cohos are being caught in good numbers most days. We have been concentrating our efforts North of the Salmon River in the Southwick …
Still inconsistant.
Even though the Salmon are here, the fishing is still inconsistant. We have had south or East wind now for a few days, and it has filled the eastern basin with cold water. The temp. is down 40 – 50 ft. right now, which is too shallow. We should be fishing in about 100 fow …
Getting tired.
Spending 100 hrs. a week on a boat, can make a guy tired. Sorry for the lack of reports lately. We will try to do a couple a week till the end of September. Oh do we have Salmon. The 70 – 80 ft. line from the Salmon River to Monterio Point, is LOADED. They …
Ahhhh! That’s better.
Big difference in the Salmon fishing today. It’s amazing what happens when the weather stabilizes. We have been seeing Kings now for a week and catching minimal numbers. Today, they bit. In the am, we were in 165 fow off the Sandy Pond area. The fish came down 130 – 140ft. On green chips with …
We need Salmon.
Will the wind please stop blowing!!! I can’t remember a summer this stormy. Bad weather this weekend, resulted in bad fishing. Low numbers of Salmon aren’t helping either. We moved around a lot the last few days. We saw fish in a few spots, but they wouldn’t stay long enough for us to really work …
Salmon are here?
We went to the south shore today for browns. Once again it was a safe move, but not great fishing. In the afternoon, we went north. We got a tip that we followed up on, and the Salmon were there. We couldn’t do much with them, but they are there. Green chip with sweetpea fly, …
Tougher than it should be.
Well, storms kept us off the lake again on Monday. We were able to get them out Tuesday morning instead. Fishing was very slow. We started off the trip by hooking into a 24lb. King a only 15 min. into the trip. We caught the fish in 65 degree water ( she must have been …
Lots of storms.
Well, the fishing on Thursday, was very good. We stayed in for browns and did well with them. We also managed to catch a bonus 28 lb. King. Lots of bait and fish in the Catfish Creek area. Friday, we never left the dock. Severe lightening, that would’nt go away, kept us off the water …
