So many fish…that don’t want to bite.

To say that the last couple of days have been difficult, would be an understatement. The strange thing, is that we have all the Brown Trout that we could ever ask for. Each boat is marking hundreds of fish each trip. The bait is there too. The weird weather, lots of storms, has them in a strange mood. Oh yeah! We are also under a full moon, which never helps when we are fishing for trout. Both boats did manage to catch fish each day, but we really had to work for them. Can’t wait for the weather to settle down. They will pay.

Fishing still good. But not great.

Wednesday was a lot of fun. We had a great time fishing with the Hurd family. We are spending our time in the same spot each day, Catfish Creek to the High Rocks. The fishing has been ok, but if the weather would stabilize, and the thermocline would sit still, the fishing would even get better. Glow Michigan’s and Fishlander’s off the riggers and wire diver’s have worked well. The smaller sized YNBK has been the best once the sun gets up.

Heavy rain. Heavy fish.

To say that we got some rain early in the week… would be an understatement. Sunday, the fishing was good, until the rain came. After the downpour started, we didn’t do much. Before that, the fish bit well. With all the rain we have gotten this year, we should be in good shape on the river. Plenty of water to float with drift boats. We have been in 85 – 100 ft. of water neat Catfish Creek for a week now and it is loaded with fish and bait. Michigan Stingers off the rigs and on divers have worked well.

Early summer brown’s

Well, summer has started. The brown’s have moved off shore and so have we. On Friday and Saturday, the fishing was up and down. Down on Friday and Up in Saturday. We worked hard for a couple of fish on Friday. Thursday we had high wind and couldn’t get our trips out. That wind moved the bait and fish and messed up the temperature. Saturday, all was good. Both boats did very well. Were in for some very good Brown Trout fishing for the next month or so.
